Food Grade Lubricants

When choosing the proper lubricants for the food and pharmacological industries or wherever food products may be involved, it is important to select lubricants that meet or exceed NSF International Certification.

NSF International is an independent organization that has reviewed the manufacturing process of a product and has independently determined that the final product complies with specific standards for safety, quality or performance. There are several certifications that apply to lubricants:

  • H1 - Certified for machinery that will have Incidental Contact with food.
  • H2 - Considered Food Grade but Certified for machinery that has No Direct Contact with food.
  • H3 - Certified as an Additive to be used as an ingredient in food.
  • 3H - Certified for machinery that will have Direct Contact with food.
